Back to the vacation recap with Estes Park on deck! Wednesday & Thursday were relatively uneventful in the context of the whole week.
After we arrived at Taharaa Mountain Lodge on Tuesday and until Wednesday’s dinner I spent time reading, relaxing, brainstorming life, and simply being. It was wonderful to have such quiet time amidst my crazy life. I really needed a day like that! Tons of ideas were refined in my mind during this time and I can’t wait to share many of them. One being a 2014 life plan while we continue to wait, wait, wait that does not include continuing to live with my parents until I hit menopause.
For dinner on Wednesday, we headed off to Mary’s Lake Lodge, right around the corner from Taharaa. We had a delicious meal (though not as memorable as Creekside Cellars’ lunch) and enjoyed a breathtaking view of Mary’s Lake in Estes Park at sunset.
After dinner, we headed back to Taharaa where we headed straight to the balcony to down quite a bit of wine. We had some fun with iPad lighting and the stars. It was a fun way to end a relaxing day!
I was really excited for Thursday to come because Husband arrived with my daddy! They drove the whole way from Chicago to Estes Park, quickly and while having a great time. While staying the night in Kearney, Nebraska they managed to stay up late to watch Naked & Afraid (some crazy show) and could not wait to tell us all about it. My dad thought it was so funny a reference came up in his father of the bride speech…and let’s just say I’ve never laughed so hard in my life!
We ate dinner at GrubSteak on Thursday night to celebrate the start of the wedding weekend. Long-time family friends who had just arrived as well as the groom and a few of his friends came to join us. It was great to see them all before the wedding festivities began the next day! The bride and a few of her friends were set to arrive the next day around lunch.
We had a little bit of fun with the camera and Stephanie’s many facial expressions too.
Thursday was the end of “regular” vacation. Friday & Saturday were strictly in celebration of Liz, my little sista! Check back tomorrow for Rehearsal fun!
